El Vignemale o Pique Longue es una de las montañas emblemáticas de Pirineos. Su imponente cara norte, la cual vemos en la imagen, alberga una de las escaladas más vertiginosas de la cordillera, el couloir de Gaube. En esta foto se puede intuir ya que discurre por  la línea diagonal de la pared que parte del glaciar y acaba en la cima del Pique Longue, justo donde aparece la Vía Láctea. La cumbre que queda a la izquierda es el Petit Vignemale.

La imagen se ha realizado mediante una fusión de 2 tomas, una en la hora azul y otra a las 3 AM, cuando la vía láctea se colocó justo encima del pico. La cámara de fotos quedó montada sobre el trípode todo el tiempo que transcurrió entre la primera y la segunda toma.

Vignemale or Pique Longue is one of the emblematic mountains of Pyrenees. The amazing north face, which you can see in the image, has one of the most vertiginous climbings of the Pyrenees, the Gaube’s couloir. It is possible to see it in this photo. It´s the vertical diagonal line in the wall that departs from the glacier and finishes at the top of the Pique Longue, where the Milky Way appears. The summit at the left is the Petit Vignemale.

The picture has been developed merging 2 captures, one in the blue hour and the other at 3 a.m.  when the milky way  was placed rightly over the peak. The camera of photos remained mounted on the tripod all the time that passed among the first shot and the second capture.
